Mendoza, Argentina: Distance Travelled = 157,888 miles

Hello!
It's been a while since I updated my blog and I thought it was about time I finished my story of my travels in South America. We travelled over from Chile into Argentina and across to the city of Mendoze. It's the fourth largest city in Argentina and was founded in 1561. Very pretty. :) You can see me having dinner and sightseeing at La Fontaine de L'Observatoire. More soon!

Cadus, Argentina: Distance Travelled = 157,899 miles

Hello!
We travelled south from Mendoza to the winery region. We went on a wine tour on horseback. They didn't have horses in my size so I had to go in the back pack. Luckily they did have wine that I coud taste, so that was just... *hick*. Time for a lie down, more tomorrow!

Beuanos Aries, Argentina: Distance Travelled = 158,510 miles

Hello!
When you're in Argentina you have to go to the capital city, of course! We wandered around for a while, found the widest street, the obilisk and also a really random cartoon character! Buenos Aires is the 20th largest city in the entire world, so it's amazing that we didn't get lost! It's also pretty old having been established in 1536 by the Spanish. It was hard for them back in those days though as they kept being attacked by the people that were originally here. The city was ruled by the British in 1806, but that only lasted about 10 years until the Spanish took control again. Fascinating city, but time to move on again!

Colonia, Uruguay: Distance Travelled = 158,547 miles

Hello again!
We travelled over the water from Buenos Aires and into Uruguay and to the city of Colonia. It's the oldest city in Urugay and has about 26,000 people living there. The city was founded in 1680 by settlers from Portugal and then taken over by the Spanish and then back to the Portugese and then back to the Spanish and then back to the Portugese etc etc. Finally it became Urugay in 1828. I bet they were dizzy with having so many changes of owners! You can see me at the Old Bull Ring and the Colonia light house. Very cool! More soon!

Mini-Sven in Brazil

Rio, Brazil: Distance Travelled = 159,736 miles

Our final stop of this trip to the South Americas was Rio de Janeiro. It's the captial city, but only the second largest city in Brazil. There is only one place you have to visit in Rio, well maybe two, Copacanana beach and Ipanema beach, wonderful! You can see the Sugar Loaf mountain in the background. The Olympic games are being held here in 2016, so maybe I'll be back again in four years time. :D
Back home again now and time to plan for my next adventure.
