Treacle goes to Katterjåkk

Posted 2nd June 2010 - travel companions - Lizz & Dan
Katterjåkk, Sweden: Distance Travelled = 82,230 miles

Evening all!
I've continued my journey up to the North of Sweden (by train of course!) I've come to Katterjåkk which is so far north that it's still winter and there is over a meter of!! This means that I could practise my ski touring and of course when you go skiing you have to prepare properly and make sure you have a proper breakfast. They talk a bit funny this far north and I was so excited about skiing again that I got a bit confused about what they said about the eggs, so I ended up laying an egg, which was very strange indeed! I made sure I was securely attached to the rucksack, all ready for the tour. After a while in the rucksack though I wanted to try out the skiing again, so I got out and put my paws through the poles. I had the usual problem though and my feet didn't touch the snow, sigh! After a while of strenuous dangling it was time for a break with my blueberry soup drunk with a spork. Lovely!
Another update very soon from the far north!

Treacle goes to Norddalsfjäll

Posted 7th June 2010 - travel companions - Lizz & Dan
Norddalsfjäll, Sweden: Distance Travelled = 82,233 miles

Hello!
We went up the mountains to do some ski touring, a mountain called Norddalsfjäll. I was having a great time until, you guessed it, I got myself into trouble! I got caught up in an avalanche, it was only a small avalanche, but it was still very, very scary. I was only mostly buried, but I was rescued very quickly. Phew, thank goodness for that! I was fine, but a bit shaken by the whole thing. I hope the rest of the trip goes ok!

Treacle gets Buried

Norddalsfjäll, Sweden: Distance Travelled = 82,234 miles

Hello!
Here is my final update from the north of Sweden. We reached the top of the Norddalsjäll and I decided that I wanted to jump for joy, but unfortunately the wind caught me and I flew much further than I wanted to! Mountains are very tall and you can fall a very long way! I fell head first in the snow, and of course I got buried, again! I got stuck there for a little while, but luckily I was rescued, phew! I think I've had enough of skiing and mountains for a while, time to go somewhere else I think!

Treacle in Berlin

Posted 22nd June 2010 - travel companions - Lizz & Dan
Berlin, Germany: Distance Travelled = 83,342 miles

Hello!
I've started out on a brand new adventure! There are so many fantastic places to visit in Europe and I've hardly been to any of them yet! All the best adventures though have to be by train I think, so we took the train all the way down Sweden and down into Germany. Here you can see me at the fantastic Hauptbahnhof in Berlin. Of course you have to be very careful as a little bear and I think the seats were made for bigger people than me and I got caught in a flipped up seat. Sigh! I hope this isn't a sign of things to come! More soon!

Treacle and the Seven Sisters

Posted 24th June 2010 - travel companions - Lizz & Dan
Warsaw, Poland: Distance Travelled = 83,662 miles

Hello!
We've made it on the train out of Germany and into Poland and have got as far as Warsaw. We stopped for a brief photo call in front of one of the Seven Sisters. The biggest and best sky scraper built in the Stalin style is in Moscow, but this is the one that is in Warsaw and it's still pretty impressive I think! Onwards, we're going further east...

Brest, Balarus: Distance Travelled = 83,776 miles

Evening all,
We got back on the train in Warsaw and travelled through to Brest in Belarus. You can see me on the train. I had lots of fun and had some of the local drink and wore silly hats. It was very good to finally reach the hotel in Brest and have a break from travelling for a few hours. Now the fun can begin as we explore this new country!

Treacle in Brest II

Posted 28th June 2010 - travel companions - Lizz & Dan
Brest, Balarus: Distance Travelled = 83,778 miles

Evening!
We've been out and about in Brest now. We visited the gigantic war monument, it was constructed on the site of the 1941 battle to commemorate the defenders of the Hero-Fortress. Amazingly tall, I felt quite small sat there on the floor next to it! So I could get a better look I climbed tree, I could see a man there, but I couldn't quite reach him.... In the war museum I found some canons, so took a better look one of them, but I didn't stay long , I knew what the long pipe was this time! Then I found a much better view of the war monument, but it really wasn't a very comfortable one, so I decided it was time to move on! More from Belarus soon!
