Treacle Arrives in Penrith

Posted 1st October 2009 - travel companions - Vicki & Jonny
Penrith, England: Distance Travelled = 44,727 miles

Evening!
I arrived safe and sound in Penrith from Fiji. It was a bumpy ride and I ended up at Penrith station all ready to go to a very special wedding! I waited for a lift for a while on a handy traffic cone, but in the end thought that I should probably phone for a lift. I'm only a little bear and don't have a mobile phone, so was very please to see the phone box next to the station! Phone boxes though are very big places for little bears, but with bit of clambering about and hanging around I managed to get a call through to be picked up. But, yes, you've guessed it, whilst checking to get my change I got into trouble :( Still, I was picked up very soon after that and rescued, phew!
An update very soon!

Treacle Goes Ballooning in Penrith

Glen Ridding, England: Distance Travelled = 44,741 miles

Evening!
It's the day of the wedding and I had a wonderful morning helping out blowing balloons up! They really were very big!! I got buried under a pile of them as I was blowing them up, so I decided to help by holding them instead. You'll never guess what happened! They were helium balloons and I got carried off up to the ceiling and over the other side of the room! It was just as well that we were in a small room or who knows where I could have ended up!!! Phew, I was brought back down to earth safe and sound though! More from the wedding soon!!

Treacle goes to a Wedding

Posted 6th October 2009 - travel companions - Vicki & Jonny
Glen Ridding, England: Distance Travelled = 44,741 miles

Evening!
I had the mots fantastic time at the wedding up in the Lake District. After I'd been rescued from the ceiling with all the balloons I was allowed to go to the ceremony and the wedding breakfast and met the lovely bride. I even had my own little bottle of champagne and a little flower corsage. It was a really lovely day and I didn't get into any more trouble at all! The hotel the wedding was at was on the edge of a lake and the day before the wedding we all went out on one of the boats and had a lovely evening. You can see the lake and wonderful mountain scenery behind me in the top picture. Lovely! This would be a nice place to return to, but it was a little cold. I think it's time to follow up on finding the best beach in the world.....
A new adventure coming up, I'm about to go with the happy bride and groom on honeymoon! Hurrah!

Birmingham, England: Distance Travelled = 44,891 miles

Evening!
The honeymoon has started! I did my best to help pack everything all neat and tidy. I decided that I didn't really want to be packed back into a suitcase on this journey, I wanted to see everything! So I sat and helped navigate along the really busy motorways and the helped get to the airport, it was so shiny and wonderful! It was very early in the morning, so I helped order and ate a really large breakfast too. Yum! needed some sustenance to help get me through the long flight ahead! More soon, I have to run to catch the flight! (Good job I'm not really running, my little legs would never make it in time!)

Flying Treacle

Posted 9th October 2009 - travel companions - Rosey & Al
North Atlantic Ocean: Distance Travelled = 49,046 miles

Afternoon,
I've had a wonderful flight over the North Atlantic Ocean! I think I should insist that I have my own seat more often! The hold is such a dark cold place to be, this was brilliant! I even had a hand set that I use to watch the inflight entertainment system with. The leg space was excellent, I'm not sure what people mean when they say that there isn't much leg space, I had oodles! The food was lovely, all in all a really lovely experience, it was a little hard to sleep though, I was so excited! I managed not to get into trouble, which was good, so maybe I'll be flying person class, rather than bear class again!!

Treacle in Jamaica

Posted 9th October 2009 - travel companions - Rosey & Al
Ocho Rios, Jamaica: Distance Travelled = 49,515 miles

Evening!
We've made it to the hotel in Ocho Rios after our long flight to Jamaica. It's a lovely hotel and we were greeted in the room by a towel sculpture! It was a very pretty swan and of course I had to sit on it! It would have been a perfect size for me to have ridden, if it had been real! It was such a lovely hotel room that I had to go around posing on all the places that I could find. To stop myself getting into trouble I went and took in a show at the hotel. It was very nice as were the drinks from the bar. A lovely evening, but I was so tired at the end of it all, being a bit jet-lagged and everything, so by the end I just crashed out on the lovely big bed. I'm not sure where my travelling companions slept, this bed was the perfect size for me!
More from this wonderful island soon! I think I'm going to like the Caribbean!

Treacle Climbs Blue Mountain Peak

Posted 12th October 2009 - travel companions - Rosey & Al
Blue Mountain Peak, Jamaica: Distance Travelled = 49,558 miles

Evening!
We've driven down to Kingston. You can see our coach driver in the picture, he had the most huge hair ever!!!! From Kingston we drove along a road as far as we could. Once the coach couldn't drive any further we had to get out and walk. We had to get up really early in Kingston so that we could walk up the tallest peak on Jamaica in time to see the sunrise. You can see me having a little rest, it was a very long walk and I do have very short legs! It was definitely worth it though, the sunrise was really quite spectacular! You can see me sitting on the concrete triangulation point at the top of the mountain. A wonderful day!

Treacle in Nine Mile

Posted 13th October 2009 - travel companions - Rosey & Al
Nine Mile, Jamaica: Distance Travelled = 49,607 miles

Morning!
We've travelled out from the hotel to a small village called Nine Mile. It's called Nine Mile because it's a mile away from Eight Mile, which is a mile away from Seven Mile. Briliant huh! This is where Bob Marley was born and grew up! It's brilliant. I'm sitting on the a very colourful rock, this rock is where Bob used to meditate and sang about it in Talking Blues. You can see our rasta guide singing and throwing his dreadlocks around. I tried to do this too, I think I did a very good job! Another lovely day on this wonderful island!
Another update soon.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica: Distance Travelled = 49,620 miles

Morning!
We're coming to the end of our time in Jamaica now and I thought it was about time I investigated the hotel properly. You can see the beach you can drink wonderfully cooling drinks, but the best bit was the garden. There were loads of fantastic plants and I had a brilliant time posing all over them. I didn't get into any trouble at all. Hurrah! We're leaving soon, so I'll send my last update from Jamaica soon.

Montego Bay, Jamaica: Distance Travelled = 49,674 miles

Morning!
Well, this is it. I'm now at the airport at Montego Bay on Jamaica ready to fly back to the UK again. I've had a wonderful time with Rosey & Al on their honeymoon. Maybe they'll take me some place again! I think it's probably time to have a rest from travelling, I just hope that I don't get into too much trouble! I'll let you know how I get on!

Treacle and the Damson Tree

Posted 20th October 2009 - travel companions - Vicki
Braintree, England: Distance Travelled = 54,412 miles

Morning!
I've made it back home. After an amazing 7 months I'm back home again! It's quite strange really. Of course when you've been away for a while there is always lots of housework and gardening to do! I thought I'd help out in the garden. There's a damson tree that was a bit sick and had to be 'pruned' so I climbed up in the tree and helped cut one of the branches down. Climbing trees with a saw is very, very dangerous though and of course I fell out and managed to get myself caught underneath the branch. Sigh. Because it was a damson tree there were loads of damsons that came down too, so I thought I'd be safer in the kitchen helping to make damson jam. I really thought I'd fall in the jam mix, but luckily I managed to keep myself out of any more trouble, which is good because being in trouble once was quite enough! A new adventure soon!

Treacle Does the Post

Posted 25th October 2009 - travel companions - Vicki
Start Hill, England: Distance Travelled = 54,429 miles

Morning!
I've been very busy since I got back from my travels and I spent today catching up on all my admin, phew, it builds up so fast! I decided to write some postcards, but when I got to the post box it seemed so huge! I managed to climb up to the top of the post box and even got the postcard in through the hole, but as usual I managed to get into trouble and fell through the hole myself. Luckily the postman wasn't far away and he rescued me. I think I need to go on the road again before I get into too much more trouble!

Treacle Commutes to London

Posted 30th October 2009 - travel companions - Vicki
Liverpool Street, England: Distance Travelled = 54,457 miles

Evening!
I've gone on an adventure into London. We had to get up very early and went to the station, where I had to stand on the platform in the drizzly rain. There wasn't much space, even for a small bear like me! I had to hold on very hard to the pole to make sure I didn't get trodden under foot! We commuted into Liverpool Street Station and then down into the London Underground. I had to hold onto the hand rail really hard so that I didn't get swallowed up! We finally got to the training session where I was allowed to keep the free pen, calculator and sweet. It was fun in London and I definitely have to go back and see the sites some day, but we went home the same day.
